Mobile phone enthusiasts are in for a big treat that’s just months away from us. Apple is widely anticipated to release its next-gen iPhones sometime this autumn.

Some of you might remember that, last year around this time, Deutsche Telekom leaked the availability date of the then-unannounced iPhone 6, saying that people would be able to grab the phone on September 19. As it was later proved, the information was spot-on.

Well, this weekend, a Vodafone employee (mobile operator activating in Europe) has leaked the release date of the "next iPhone."

The Vodafone employee sent an email to MobileNews revealing that the iPhone 6s (and probably the iPhone 6s Plus, although the leakster did not mention this particular model) would be available for purchase on September 25. Pre-orders for the new models will begin on September 18.

You'd better mark these days in your calendar

Another report coming out of Greek website Tech maniacs says that the iPhone 6s will be unveiled on September 8. But that doesn’t really go against the previous leak. The iPhone 6s could be officially introduced to the world on the above mentioned date, with pre-orders starting out on September 18. The initial batches could start shipping out on September 25.

The iPhone 6s is expected to arrive with a 4.7-inch display that will supposedly make use of the pressure-sensitive Force Touch technology used in the Apple Watch and new Retina Macbook. The feature allows the screen to “discern” how hard it is being tapped.

The handset will be fueled by Apple’s next-gen A9 processor which is expected to be manufactured by Samsung, fitted with 2GB of RAM. In order to prevent another #bendgate scandal, Apple is said to be using Series 7000 aluminum on the new iPhone.

This is an aircraft grade material that is 60% stronger than the current metal standard. Sapphire glass is once again said to be included into the display, but it is poised to be exclusive to the iPhone 6s Plus.

We also expect the phone to receive an upgrade in the camera department, with the main snapper’s capacity being increased from 8MP to 12MP.
