Hype is building up on the iPhone front as Apple is rumored to unveil multiple new models this year. Some rumors say the iPhone 6 is reserved for 2014 (and if history is any indication, this will be the case), but Dakota Adney couldn’t wait any longer.Adney, and artist from a small town near Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been tinkering with video since he was about nine years old.
A sworn Canon fan, Adney has an impressive gallery of photos and videos that rivals even the work of listed pros.
His lastest work is an Apple-styled iPhone 6 commercial (embedded below) marketing a tantalizing iClear Retina display that does away with the phone’s internals for a futuristic see-trough design.
Translucent displays are not science fiction. While the technology is available, its applicability in consumer electronics has yet to find relevance.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some good old-fashioned concept artistry. In fact, Adney’s clip is probably the most realistic iPhone concept video we’ve ever laid our eyes on.
Rumor has it that Apple won’t roll out the iPhone 6 until next year. In all honesty, this should be the case indeed.
Ever since the iPhone 3G came out, Apple made every other new-generation an “S” (i.e. iPhone 3GS; iPhone 4S), which theoretically puts the iPhone 5S on the map for 2013.
It all has to do with the difficulties incurred by assemblers resulting from new designs. Foxconn has already confirmed that the iPhone 5 is a tough nut to crack, and Apple probably won’t hand them all-new specs now that they’ve finally cracked those yield rates.
In all likelihood, the iPhone 6 will be released in 2014. But don’t grow too fond of Adney’s translucent concept. Chances are his design depicts Apple’s iPhone 10.
