Speculation arises that Apple could make the logo on its next iPhone light in the dark

iPhone 6 will probably have a lot of new features, both inside and out, but one tantalizing rumor suggests it might even come with a glowing Apple logo on its back, much like the one found on Apple’s MacBooks.

An iconic feature that has been used by Apple to make its laptops stand out of a crowd, the glowing Apple logo is a very appreciated feature among Mac enthusiasts. It’s been suggested on numerous occasions that Apple should implement it across the board, but at least for some devices it simply doesn’t make sense.

For once, a constant-on LED is a battery sucking vampire. Sure, it’s not much for the huge battery living inside a MacBook, but it can shave off considerable usage time if you power it with the small cell inside an iPhone or an iPod. And with Apple constantly striving to achieve not extra hours, but minutes with painstaking code optimizations and new screen technologies, a glowing LED logo has to be the last feature on their list of priorities.

But say they manage to pull it off with the iPhone 6. And I certainly hope they do (as long as they also throw in the option to switch it off). Would you want that?
