Renown journalists and tech bloggers have had their take on the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Unsurprisingly, the reviews are mostly positive. They brag about battery life, the screen sizes and the camera.

Big names like Walt Mossberg (Re/Code), Tim Stevens (Engadget), Nilay Patel (The Verge), David Pogue (Yahoo tech), Jim Dalrymple (The Loop) or Joanna Stern (The Wall Street Journal), Joshua Topolsky (BusinessWeek) have played with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for almost a week and they praise it, compare it to older iPhones and to the main competitors on the Android and Windows Phone side.

For Walt Mossberg, for example, the iPhone 6 is a winner. He says that one of the improved things is the keyboard. With iOS 8, it can predict the next word you are about to type. His conclusion is that the iPhone 6 is a great upgrade for current iPhone owners and it is his recommendation for the best smartphone you can buy.

John Gruber of Daring Fireball says the battery life for the iPhone 6 seems similar to that of the iPhone 5s, while the iPhone 6 Plus one is greatly improved. He likes the fit and finish of the phone, better display quality and faster internals. The new devices look like a great improvement one year after the iPhone 5s, but he has a hard time adjusting to the bigger screen.

Nilay Patel of The Verge says the camera on the iPhone 6 Plus is the best camera he has used so far in a smartphone. Even though it has only 8 megapixels, the photos produced by this camera are by far the best ones coming from a phone.

Features like optical image stabilization, low light performance and slow-mo video shooting make it even better. He believes the overall package is much better than what Samsung or others have to offer.

Jim Dalrymple of The Loop thinks the iPhone 6 Plus will be a huge success because of the users that want to have a bigger screen. However, he likes the iPhone 6 more because it has the perfect size for almost any hand.

Joanna Stern writes for The Wall Street Journal and she made a funny video to explain how iOS 8 works and what's new and notable. After going through all of that, she admits the iPhone's greatest point is the apps and the ecosystem.

Joshua Topolsky, the former editor-in-chief of The Verge, currently at BusinessWeek says the new iPhones are awesome, good looking smartphones and they may very well be the best smartphones ever made, not just by Apple, but by everyone.

He believes that the iPhone 6 Plus is too large, although the battery is the big thing here. Even with Reachability, this device won't hold it for him. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 is the best phone you can get, the best combination of "killer hardware, slick software and deep integration into Apple's amazing ecosystem."
