A report from Korea says Apple plans to employ a bezel-free design for the iPhone 6 this year, going edge-to-edge like in the various concept images floating around the web.
The report is actually focused on Samsung and its upcoming offerings. A comparison is then made between the Korean company’s and Apple’s plans with their next-generation smartphones.
“The source said that Samsung’s top rival Apple is also testing a similar prototype sporting a bezel-less screen that features a fingerprint scanner,” states The Korea Herald.
Various reports have pegged the iPhone 6 as curved or rounded (tapered) towards the edges, but such rumors are sketchy at best.
The release date is also highly uncertain, with some analysts projecting a summer launch (at WWDC 14). Others are conservatory in their predictions, forecasting a launch around September.
