The prices for the new iPhones are ridiculous!

We have always seen prices go crazy for new Apple devices on eBay, but this time, those who don't want to wait in line have to pay a hefty premium. There are people who stand in line to get their hands on the brand new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models and then sell them online for ridiculous amounts of money.

But, then again, the demand is pretty high.

Interestingly enough, the best selling new iPhone models are the 64GB iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. An eBay user sells an iPhone 6 Plus for $8,073.95 (€6,268.51). He says the phone has 64GB of flash storage and is unlocked and brand-new. Also, you can actually get it now and you don't even have to pay shipping for it.

Nobody wants an iPhone?

The phone comes in the white and gold variant and has been originally purchased from England. The buyer needs to have an eBay verified account and show at least 50 positive feedbacks. The payment can be done via a PayPal verified account. This guy has 3 iPhones for sale, and apparently, somebody already bought one for that crazy amount of money.

There is also a cheaper offer for a similar 64GB Space Grey GSM iPhone 6 Plus. The price asked by the seller is $5,000 (€3,881.94), but so far, there's no bid. The lowest bid is just over one third, at $1,700 (€1,319.86).

If you compare those prices with the one for iPhone 6, you will see that you can get the latter for a bargain  $4,000 (€3,105) for the 16GB Space Grey unlocked version.

Selling something they don't have

The lowest bid has to be at least $249 (€193.32) and nobody has offered that yet. The seller makes it clear that this is only a pre-sale reservation. So he doesn't even have the phone. He believes that the iPhone will get to him sometimes next week and he will be sending it to the winner of the eBay auction. It remains to be seen who would pay so much money for it.

Shopping on eBay can be risky business. But you may be able to get an iPhone that's just a hundred dollars more than the Apple's retail price. You have to bear in mind the fact that you will have to pay shipping and customs fees for it.

Some countries also charge tax if the phone is not from the same region, so you may end up paying over 30% more for an iPhone just for the luxury of having it in the first week after its launch.
