Just as suspected, Sonny Dickson published nothing more than mockups

Upon reporting on Sonny Dickson’s iPhone 6 leak with skepticism much like everyone else, we decided to ask around and see if these photos are indeed real or not.

While covering an iPad concept by Dutch designer Martin Hajek, we couldn’t help but notice a striking glow effect, coupled with fake prints and some artificial lighting that do a pretty good job at fooling the untrained eye.

Italian artist Federico Ciccarese agrees that the images from Sonny Dickson look eerily familiar to Hajek’s works, and points out to this interesting topic on Imgur.

If that’s not enough to convince you, we fired a second email in just the right direction – Hajek himself. Here’s what he tells Softpedia:

“Given the fact that my 3D models are for sale and that a lot of people have been asking me recently about which rendering engine I use...I suppose anyone can make these images (and yes – they don't seem like real photos to me).”

“Add on top of that there are a lot of iPod-touch-like concepts appearing on the internet recently which don't address the issue of the 3G/4G antenna – so I suppose this would be another concept visual?”

Seeing how Hajek himself was unsure what to make of those pictures, we decided to show him Federico’s findings on Imgur.

To which Hajek replied, “Not surprising...I sell my 3D models complete with the dust and fingerprint textures...” So there you have it. Same photos, only slightly rotated and blurred.

The so-called iPhone 6 leak everyone’s talking about just got debunked!

The designer even admitted that Apple would be making a really bad choice launching such a design this year.

“I agree..I would not want to see Apple release this as their next iPhone...they need to make something with a real ‘wow’ factor this time around – not just another update to the iPhone 4-4S-5-5S design language,” Hajek tells us.
