The new feature comes in handy, but it’s not something unique to the iPhone

Tons of info has been written about Apple iPhone 6, some highlighting the innovative features it will bring, other trying to emphasize the fact that the Cupertino-based company plans to improved its flagship smartphone with technologies already included by the competition.

Apparently, one of the new features that the iPhone 6 will come packed with is called One Hand mode, or something similar. As the name suggests, the One Hand mode will allow users to handle the phone with just one hand.

The feature is very useful when large displays come into play, and given the fact that Apple plans to also launch the 5.5-inch iPhone 6, the One Hand mode is the perfect tool for those who don’t want or can’t use both of their hands to control the phone.

The jump from a 4-inch to a 5.5-inch display is huge and can make some people despair, which is why Apple thought it would be wise to make the transition much easier.

We’re not sure how effective the one-hand mode will be on the iPhone 6, but we can definitely say that this is not an innovative, groundbreaking feature as some may think.

For example, the LG G3, which was launched several months ago, has the same one-hand mode that Apple’s iPhone 6 might also include.

LG’s flagship smartphone, the G3 sports a large 5.5-inch display, supposedly just like the iPhone 6, which is why the South Korean company added this nifty feature.

According to several screenshots leaked on Weibo and published by BGR, iPhone 6 users will be able to enable the one-hand mode by clicking on a certain toggle that’s supposed to adjust the size of the objects showing on the screen.

Speaking of which, we’re still not sure what resolution the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 smartphones will have, but according to the latest leaked specs sheet, the former should support 960 x 1704 pixels, which seems rather unusual compared with previous rumors pointing to a possible 750 x 1334 pixel resolution.

Apple has already confirmed that the iPhone 6 launch event will kick off today at 10am PDT / 1pm EST / 5pm GMT / 8pm, which means we only have a few more hours to wait until the official announcement.

Here is hoping Apple’s iPhone 6 will have some really innovative features included, not just this sort of “groundbreaking” capabilities that come in handy but shouldn’t be seen as selling points.
