Apple today started offering iPhone 5c pre-orders on its website, including a 16GB configuration for $99/€99, and a 32GB model for $199/€199 with a two-year contract.

The initial batch of iPhone 5c devices will ship on September 20 to the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the UK.

Many countries where Apple hasn’t signed deals with the operators will be selling the handset off-contract, for its regular $549/€599 asking price.

Apple refused to cater to the low-end market and developed a phone that’s just as valuable as the former iPhone 5, which has been discontinued.

Customers interested in buying the new device can visit store.apple.com and pre-order their own unit immediately. The site presents visitors with a model & color selector, as well as with an option to choose one of those cases that make the phones look like crocs.
