Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5S, expected to arrive this summer, will reportedly feature improved camera modules, a new layout for several of its physical buttons and, most importantly, a fingerprint scanner.

Biometrics technology isn’t new, and the same goes for the rumors involving iPhone fingerprint scanners. However, Apple is yet to launch an iPhone that can read your fingerprints.

According to one prominent analyst, the iPhone 5S will be the first one to introduce biometrics technology which might just pave the way for transactions routed through iTunes.

Brian White with Topeka Capital Markets says the iPhone 5S will have a larger camera and will include fingerprint identification technology, according to Forbes, which got its hands on the analyst’s research notes.

“This is likely to be the major new feature used to market the iPhone 5S, similar to what Siri was to the iPhone 4S,” White said of the fingerprint recognition tech.
