GoSolarUSA, the company behind the upcoming Volt solar charger for iPhone, has announced that the company expects Apple’s iPhone 5 announcement to boost interest in its offerings.

“Anticipation for the unveiling of Apple’s iPhone 5 is already running at a fever pitch,” said GSLO President and CEO Tyson Rohde. “GoSolarUSA is making plans to capitalize on the explosion in demand for iPhone 5 accessories upon its release.”

GoSolarUSA claims to be excited about the prospects for its hot new battery pack, after looking over sales predictions for both the iPhone 4 and forthcoming iPhone 5.

The company quotes a prediction from Asymco analyst Horace Dediu in March that Apple’s iPhone 4 would sell around 60-65 million units, whereas the successor could nearly double that figure.

According to Deidu, each new version of the iPhone sells roughly twice as many units as the last.

However, there’s also a limit to how many potential buyers are out there, as is a limit to how many devices can be assembled in good time.

Still, GSLO sees Dediu’s bold prediction as good news.

They’re expecting accessory demand from a huge number of iPhone users to drive interest in their Volt solar charger, a case that traps on the handset and powers it to extend talk time, as well as other functions, via a built-in solar panel and a 1500 mAh battery.

“GSLO plans to add the iPhone 5 to that list once specifications are released for the next-gen smartphone,” the company said.

Earlier this month, GSLO issued a report saying that its Volt solar chargers fit both the black and the white iPhone 4 models perfectly.

The solar energy company was not capitalizing the hype of a rumored physical difference between the black and white versions of the iPhone 4, but rather referred to the aesthetic match between the handset and its accessory.
