14 DAY TRIAL // Apple’s online store has lifted a restriction regarding factory-unlocked iPhone 5 purchases, allowing customers to buy as many units as their hearts desire.
As the Cupertino company prepares to roll out its latest gizmos in the Far East, iPhone 5 sales are no longer restricted to “two per customer” in the United States.
Anyone visiting store.apple.com in the States can now order as many units as their pockets can handle. The handset starts at $649 with 16GB of storage and goes all the way up to $849 for 64GB.
The unlocked iPhone only works on supported GSM networks (AT&T in the US) and allows users to slide in a nano-SIM card from a local GSM carrier anywhere in the world. For clarification, Apple informs customers that the unlocked iPhone 5 is model A1428.
The company is beginning to get a handle of its iPhone supply chain having reduced shipping times from weeks to days in the U.S.
