Apple posts 2-3-week delivery notice on its web store

Apple has reduced the shipping time for orders placed on its iPhone 5 from 3-4 weeks to 2-3 weeks, in what is a telltale sign that the company is getting hold of its supply.

That, and people are buying less iPhone 5s. The handset has been out for almost a month now, and demand is naturally beginning to decline, which is allowing Apple to re-stock its supply and reduce delivery estimates.

All iPhone 5 models (Black & Slate, White & Silver, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB) are now shipping in 2-3 weeks in the United States, as well as many other countries around the world.

In brick-and-mortar stores, the situation varies depending on remaining stock. In some areas, you can just walk into a store and leave with a brand-new iPhone 5 in a few minutes. In other locations, Apple retail stores have completely run out of handsets to sell.
