Apple has begun opening the doors to its retail stores across the few countries slated to receive the initial batch of iPhone 5 units, including the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK.

The image above depicts a long lone of customers at Apple’s flagship retail store in New York City. Everyone is there to enter the glass cube and run off with one of Apple’s new iPhone 5s. After paying for it, of course. Apple says they’ll even take the time to set up your iPhone so you’re good to go when you leave the store.

iPhone 5 will be available at 249 Apple retail stores in the U.S, as well as through AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, Best Buy, RadioShack, Target and Walmart stores, and select Apple Authorized Resellers.

iPhone 5 will roll out worldwide to 22 more countries on September 28, Apple said.
