Apple today launched the iPhone 5 in almost three dozen new countries making good on its CEO’s promise to have the smartphone deployed in 100 territories by year’s end.

Philip Elmer-DeWitt confirms that Apple's new handset quietly launched in St. Kitts, Barbados, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Egypt, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Tunisia and Uganda.

The Apple pundit reveals that St. Kitts was country No. 101 on the list of countries in line to get shipments.

Prices will vary by country, but the phone costs $199 (US) for the 16GB model, $299 (US) for the 32GB model and $399 (US) for the 64GB model. For comparison, the same figures apply for EU customers. For instance, the low-end model sells for €199 with a two-year wireless plan.
