The shape of the iPhone 5 Home Button Flex Cable suggests there will be no redesigned home button in the iPhone 5, despite many rumors saying that Apple had gone for an elongated shape to add touch functionality.
The part sells for $6.68 and is said to be compatible with “iPhone 5 (5th generation).”
China Better, the seller, describes it as being a “high quality and original home button flex cable for iPhone 5.” The hardware does not include the actual (outer) button.
They recommend that whoever buys one should ask a professional to fit it onto the handset. The seller also stresses that the part is different from the one currently used in the iPhone 4, and offers comparison shots to back that up.
