14 DAY TRIAL // UK residents have the chance to win an iPhone 5 (provided that Apple actually launches one) by entering a competition organized by Virgin Media to vote for their favorite short film producer, in what can also give up-and-coming new film directors a leg-up in their career.
Announced by means of an email sent to Virgin Media subscribers, the initiative has UK residents voting in the country’s biggest short film competition for the chance to win not only a fifth-generation iPhone, but also an iPad or five 100 Pound iTunes vouchers.
That’s not all. Winners also get to be patted on the shoulder for selecting what could possibly be the next Steven Spielberg, according to the provider of telephone, television and broadband internet services.

Apple has not confirmed any plans to launch a new iPhone this year, yet with a new iPhone arriving every other summer since 2007, the smartphone is quite overdue for a refresh.
However, there are no guarantees that Apple won’t be launching an incremental iPhone 4S this year, rather than a major refresh worthy of the 5.0 moniker.
