Spanning multiple stages of development and an attempt to have Apple license its accessories, GoSolarUSA has confirmed that the initial manufacturing run of its Volt Solar Charger for iPhone 4 is expected to be completed in the next 10 days.

GoSolarUSA President and CEO Tyson Rohde said in a statement today, “We’re understandably thrilled with the news that production of the Volt will be wrapping up soon.”

Rohde added, “We’re more than eager to share this amazing device with iPhone users across the country, and given the recent news that Apple has chosen to delay the release of the iPhone 5 until the next fiscal year, we feel confident with our timing.”

In other words, GSLO admits it was late to the game, but now that the iPhone 5 release is reportedly being pushed to autumn, the company has a window of opportunity to sell its “hotly anticipated gadget” (though media coverage of the Volt has been arguably scarce).

Still, Apple fans interested in obtaining the ‘green’ accessory may need to be proactive, Rohde cautioned, as “GSLO’s first shipment of Volt Solar Chargers is expected to go fast,” the company’s report reads.

The Volt Solar Charger battery pack is allegedly compatible with all iPhones starting with the 3G model and, should Apple choose not to alter the current design too much, it should fit the iPhone 5 as well.

The accessory extends the iPhone’s talk time and battery life using a built-in solar panel and a 1500 mAh rechargeable battery.

“Anticipation for the Volt’s North American debut is well beyond our projections at this point,” Rohde said. “The best chance to get your hands on one of the first Volt Solar Chargers to hit U.S. shores is to sign up for our waiting list at GoSolarUSA.com.”

The Volt will go on sale in both black and white and it will be bundled with a one-year warranty, GSLO said.
