In what will probably have a huge impact on the iAccessory market, Apple is reportedly moving away from the 30-pin dock connector we’ve all grown accustomed to, switching to a smaller version that looks much like the micro USB standard.

TechCrunch claims to have independently verified and confirmed that “Apple is working on adding a 19-pin port, replacing the current 30-pin port, to the new iPhone.”

The latest iPhone 5 leaks had already revealed this particular hardware feature, but it never hurts to add confirmation from trusted sources.

As many as three independent accessory manufacturers agreed that the 19-pin port is, indeed, “in the works.” They noted that every iAccessory maker is looking at a bit of disturbance in their established business, in the months to come.
