Two new reports citing knowledgeable sources indicate there’s a pretty good chance Apple’s iPhone 5 will arrive this October on Sprint’s network, in addition to AT&T and Verizon, whose airwaves already support Apple’s smartphones.

A leaked internal document from Best Buy says the retailer is expecting Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone, and that it will be Sprint-supported.

According to a photo published by BGR, the leaked paper reads:

“BBYM: iPhone 4 product introduction expected, pre-sales begin for expected October 1 week launch / Sprint launches iPhone 5 … (Apple product introduction / Launch dates subject to change).

The blog’s source later clarified that it is entirely possible pre-sales will kick off as early as this week,

The device itself, the source says, may become physically available as early as the first week of October.

Another report quotes someone who lives in Austin, Texas, and has been contracted to do some work at Apple’s retail stores to set up what he calls “repeaters” that are to carry Sprint cellular signals.

The source also mentions that the hardware is capable of CDMA and 4G / LTE wireless standards. The tipster, according to Beatweek, said:

“One thing I can tell you is that the electrical contractor that I work for is contracted to install Sprint “repeaters” at The Domain. There is a Apple Store at The Domain. One of the “repeaters” is to be installed INSIDE the Apple Store. There is to be a total of 5 “repeaters” installed. The equipment is CDMA and 4G (Sprint)”…

There has been a lot of chatter about what new carriers Apple may have chosen for the iPhone 5 launch. Not only Sprint but T-mobile is also expected to carry the new hardware.

With an Apple event rumored to hold the iPhone 5 announcement this month, it won’t be long before the Cupertino giant itself confirms or crushes these rumors.
