Pre-orders available this Friday, but not in all territories

Apple has issued an official announcement confirming that its iPhone 4S, “the most amazing iPhone yet,” is coming to Hong Kong, South Korea and 13 additional countries on November 11 - next Friday.

The company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California says that customers will be able to pre-order their brand new iPhone 4S beginning this Friday, November 4.



Apple adds that, beginning Friday, November 11, iPhone 4S will be available in 15 new territories, including Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania and South Korea.

The handset is currently available in a total of 29 countries around the world. Apple plans to have it present in 70 markets by the end of the year, according to the press release.

Apple markets its new handset with the following description: “iPhone 4S is packed with incredible new features including Apple’s dual-core A5 chip for blazing fast performance and stunning graphics; an all new camera with advanced optics; full 1080p HD resolution video recording; and Siri, an intelligent assistant that helps you get things done just by asking.”

Valued in US dollars, the phone costs $199 for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB model, and $399 for the all-new 64GB model. Customers can pick it up in either black and white models not only from Apple’s retail stores, but also from select Apple Authorized Resellers.

The Mac maker’s announcement includes a tidbit about two older iPhone models - iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS - which now sell at $99 and $0 respectively with a two year contract from supported operators.

Finally, Apple notes that countries like Albania, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro and Panama will not be offered the option to pre-order the new iPhone 4S.
