Apple finally catching up to demand as Foxconn hires thousands at its iPhone plants

Apple is no longer listing an estimated shipping date for iPhone 4S orders placed through its international online stores. Instead, the company simply states “in stock”.

Apple’s "In stock" listing means the device will get to your door in 24 hours or less. Regardless of the model you choose - white or black, 16GB / 32GB / 64GB - Apple says it can deliver.

There are quite a few reasons why Apple is finally catching up to demand. First off, it’s been almost four months since the phone’s debut - many people already have it. Then there’s the free iPhone 3GS with a two year contract - that thing also sells. Then there’s the upcoming iPhone 5, which many believe will be worth skipping the upgrade to the 4S (considering they already own an iPhone).

Finally, Foxconn is hiring iPhone assemblers by the thousands.
