Only a few days after Verizon Wireless announced officially the upcoming availability of the iPhone 4 on its airwaves, T-Mobile came up with a new video ad for its 4G network, aimed at showing that both wireless carriers have slow 3G networks and that the iPhone 4 won't be used at its true value at these operators. T-Mobile has been long mocking AT&T's network as offering slower speeds than its brand new HSPA+ network, wich was recognized not too long ago as being 4G.

The video ads that T-Mobile started airing since this fall are meant to show that the carrier's new 4G network offers better value then competitors' airwaves, but, since they all feature the iPhone 4, it has been suggested that they might aim elsewhere too.

And since the iPhone is no longer exclusively available on AT&T, chances are that T-Mobile too would pick up the device. Thus, the iPhone 4 would show its true value on the fastest network in the US.

The wireless carrier is interested in having the Apple iconic device available for purchase for its customers, a T-Mobile official confirmed recently.

“We would be interested in offering the iPhone, but ultimately it is Apple's decision,” a T-Mobile spokeswoman said, Seattle Times reports.

For the time being, nothing was confirmed on whether the iPhone would make an appearance on T-Mobile's offering too, or at other wireless carriers in the United States, but more might be unveiled officially after Verizon puts the smartphone on sale, in early February.

In the meantime, T-Mobile is trying to convince US customers than the iPhone 4 is indeed a great device, but that it can not perform as it should on the slow 3G networks of AT&T and Verizon.

We should note that AT&T too announced HSPA+ upgrades for its network, along with plans to move to 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) soon. Verizon has already fired up its 4G network, but the new iPhone 4 won't support it.
