Starting with next week, South Korean mobile phone users would have the possibility to purchase the latest Apple iPhone model via SK Telecom, the wireless carrier unveiled recently.

Enthusiasts interested in acquiring a new iPhone 4 from the wireless operator can already pre-register via online and retail sales channels.

According to SK Telecom, it aims at having the new iconic device available for users with a series of tariff plans specifically tailored for iPhone consumers.

“SK Telecom is proud to offer iPhone 4 on the nation’s top network,” said So Jin-Woo, President of Platform Business and Co-CEO of SK Telecom.

“Our customers will benefit from flexible tariff plans tailored to their unique usage needs along with a high level of customer care.”

The iPhone 4 is the most innovative handset in the world, the mobile phone carrier notes.

The new device comes with Apple’s stunning Retina display, which can offer the highest resolution available on mobile phones at the moment.

On it, users would enjoy crisp text, images and video, not to mention that they have at their disposal the FaceTime app for video calling.

The specifications list of this device would also include Apple’s A4 chip for increased performance levels, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash and HD video recording on the back.

Running under iOS 4, the iPhone 4 would also offer support for applications available for download via the App Store, some 350,000 of them, including the iMovie app, designed exclusively for iPhone 4.

Starting today, mobile phone users in South Korean can head to SK Telecom’s official online store, T Smart Shop, to pre-register for the device.

They can also enter one of the 1,500 authorized SK Telecom T World retail stores for that, the company announced.

No specific info on the pricing or other details on the availability of the iPhone 4 at SK Telecom emerged for the time being, but the carrier promises more of them soon.
