A source reporting on Apple news in Italy claims to have caught wind of the exact launch date of the White iPhone 4, saying that customer at H3G stores would be able to grab one on April 26.

Though admittedly not able to confirm its new findings, iPhoneItalia proceeds to report that a reliable source has leaked the White iPhone 4 launch to the site.

The Google-translated report notes that the information contained within the piece cannot be verified or refuted directly. It follows with a quote from the actual source (again, Google translation):

iPhone white arrival, date of arrival in the stores H3G April 26.  the product code is already open .... The news is almost certain though not announced.

Delayed multiple times since its initial summer 2010 introduction, the white version of Apple’s iPhone 4 has been more difficult to manufacture than its black counterpart.

Recent developments have shed light on the matter, with many reports suggesting Apple had trouble with the paint used to make the back and front glass panels white.

A special paint reportedly developed by a Japanese firm appears to have saved Apple from failing to launch the ivory phone altogether, but the company is still to make a proper, official announcement regarding its long-delayed launch.

According to recent reports the phone is on track for its estimated spring 2011 launch.

It was initially believed that launching the White iPhone 4 close to summer 2011 would bump up against an imminent iPhone 5 announcement which would make no sense for Apple to launch the White version altogether.

But the iPhone 5 is reportedly also delayed until fall 2011, which gives Apple a window of opportunity to sell the bleached iPhone 4 to whomever has been waiting so long to grab one.
