The first multi-party video conferencing solution has been released today for the new Apple iPhone 4. The new platform for iPhone 4 is called Amadeo, and comes from Damaka, a technology pioneer in mobile unified communications and collaboration (UCC).

According to the company, its software solution enables multi-party video conferencing on more mobile operating systems at large.

Thus, iPhone 4 owners have the possibility to engage in video conference sessions across various mobile platforms, including Android, iPad, Symbian and Windows Mobile devices, as long as other devices are using Amadeo too.

Moreover, the Amadeo platform has been designed so as to offer users the possibility to both send and receive video simultaneously via Wi-Fi, 3G, and 4G networks.

Ira Weinstein, senior analyst and partner, Wainhouse Research, says that Apple iPhone 4 is one of the most popular handsets on the market at the moment, even if it was released only a few months ago.

Amadeo platform enables users to toggle between the front and rear cameras on the iPhone during the video calling sessions, while including a wide range of other features too.

Among them, we can count application and desktop sharing with voice, editing, zooming and panning capabilities; Instant Messaging and multi-party audio conferencing; and Presence.

Other features of the application include the Sweeping technology from Damaka, a method of transferring in-process sessions to and from multiple devices, which can be used on more than one operating system or network.

“The ability to leverage the iPhone 4's front and rear facing cameras for live multi-party video conference sessions with any other smartphone on any data network, while simultaneously utilizing the various Damaka collaboration tools, will be of great interest to the growing user base of iPhone users,” Weinstein notes.

According to Siva Chaturvedi, CEO of Damaka, the iPhone 4 is expected to become one of the most popular devices on the consumer and business markets.

“In today's business environment which demands a higher degree of collaboration and mobility than ever before, Damaka's Amadeo platform offers users an unrivaled multi-party video conferencing and collaboration solution that helps achieve higher levels of efficiency and productivity,” Chaturvedi concludes.
