The iPhone 4 breaks, gets easily scratched, ships with odd splotches of color on its screen, doesn’t ship with a white case just yet, gets hundreds queuing up in Tokio, Japan, but best of all, it blends. Pretty much the only thing iPhone 4 hasn’t endured yet is get microwaved (although we’re sure it will happen pretty soon).

The hype surrounding the smartphone’s launch even got the best of BlendTec’s founder, Tom Dickson, who has made a special Will it Blend video which includes a parody of the lost iPhone 4 prototype, a funny scenario where he meets up with Steve Jobs in a back alley and then gets roughed up by Apple’s Task Force, and of course, the blending of the iPhone 4 itself. “I hear the iPhone 4 is much faster. Let’s see if it blends faster”, Dickson says, and proceeds with inserting the expensive gadget into one of his powerful blenders. Notably, the device has FaceTime on as it is being slowly placed inside the blender. An iPhone 4-exclusive feature, FaceTime only works on Wi-Fi between two identical devices, therefore another iPhone 4 must be laying around the BlendTec lab.

As Dickson soon reveals, the iPhone 4 does blend. However, the steel frame wrapped around the device (which doubles as the phone’s antenna) is tough to break. In fact, as Dickson pours out the remains of the iPhone 4, there are still some visibly intact parts amongst the debris.

The BlendTec founder used this opportunity to announce the “Blend my Phone” contest. The winner will receive a brand new iPhone 4 with a two year contract paid by Dickson. To enter the contest, participants must send in their old phone for blending (not necessarily an iPhone). Should their name not get picked out of the hat, Dickson promises to blend their phone on a future episode of Will it Blend.
