The most expected mobile device of the year gets handled before its time

Although the first new iPhones should be available for "regular users" no sooner than July 11, an iPhone fan from Portugal has already gotten his hands on a black and shiny 8GB iPhone 3G and posted several pics with it.

[admark=1]The unboxing images appeared today on the iPhone Portugal forum and the user who posted them says he (or she) did not buy the iPhone 3G, since there's no place to buy it from yet, hence it might be a unit illegally taken from a store. Anyway, regardless of its provenience, the iPhone 3G that got out earlier is said to be really fast when it comes to Web browsing, but it cannot connect to the App Store (most probably this will only work starting July 11).

For those who don't find anything special about the iPhone 3G, this early unboxing might not mean anything. But there are surely lots and lots of users who have been impatiently waiting for Apple's new handset and seeing it unboxed, three days before it officially hits the stores, might almost be similar to getting it earlier for themselves. Of course, nothing compares to the real thing, but this is surely a good preview of what you'll get on July 11 in case you're among those who want to buy the handset from the very first day.

A worrying aspect is that the black iPhone 3G that got unboxed has tons of visible fingerprints, which seem to be easily attracted by the glossy finish. This could be a big problem for those who want to keep their handsets as clean as possible. Sure, you can choose to buy the white version if you care that much about fingerprints, but unfortunately only the 16GB iPhone 3G comes in this color version too.

Well, that's it for now on the early unveiling of iPhone 3G. Until you get the chance to buy one for yourselves, enjoy the available images.
