American retailers Walmart and Best Buy are having some killer sales on Apple iPads, including both the full-size Retina models, and the diminutive iPad mini tablet.

Walmart is selling the 16GB iPad mini with Wi-Fi-only for $299, which translates into a $30 discount. Customers can get both standard shipping and in-store pickup, depending on their area.

Best Buy is selling big iPads at a discount. The 16GB iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular goes for $405.99 (down from $579.99) and the 64GB iPad Wi-Fi+ Cellular is priced at $545.99 (from $779.99).

Wi-Fi models with 16GB of storage cost $314.99 (from $449.99) and 64GB models are priced at $454.99 (formerly $649.99).

Apple itself is expected to start offering iPads at lower prices starting this month, should the Cupertino giant introduce the next-generation iPad 5 and perhaps a Retina-enabled iPad mini (second-generation) model.
