Apple has reinstated the normal functionality of its online store, updating its virtual shelves with a new product: the iPad mini with Retina display.

Announced last month during a special event hosted in San Francisco, California, the iPad mini with Retina display is Apple’s second-generation low-end iPad.

Retina screen production in the Far East has been lackluster, forcing Apple to postpone the tablet’s launch until it made sure it had enough units to kickstart sales.

That moment arrived today, when Apple updated its online store with new listings which include the new iPad mini with Retina display.

Starting at $399/€389, the device comes in four storage options (up to 128GB) and two different wireless configurations (Wi-Fi-only or Wi-Fi+Cellular).

Wi-Fi-only models with 16GB and 32GB of Flash memory will ship in 1-3 business days, whereas the 64GB and 128GB models will be delivered in 5-10 business days, according to Apple’s listings. All cellular models will also ship in 5-10 business days.

Apple announced iPad mini with Retina display during a special event held in San Francisco last month.

Equipped with a Retina screen, the diminutive tablet computer brings all the pixels from its bigger sibling (the 9.7-inch iPad) to its 7.9-inch display, delivering sharp text and incredible photographic detail.

The design hasn’t changed, but the tablet now ships in a Space Gray finish (in addition to Silver) and features the powerful 64-bit A7 chip, faster Wi-Fi, and expanded LTE cellular connectivity.

iPad mini comes with the new iOS 7 and has access to over a million applications, half of which are specifically tailored for tablet use. The device is now being sold in around three dozen countries around the world.
