Apple suppliers Parade Technologies and Integrated Memory Logic saw their stock prices gain 3% value after rumors broke out that Apple will use their technologies in a Retina-enabled iPad mini 2.

Citing a Chinese news outlet, iTechNow reports that “Market rumors today about Apple adopting Retina Display in its next-generation iPad mini sent the stock prices of the company’s suppliers Parade Technologies and Integrated Memory Logic up more than 3%.”

The two companies supposedly supply Apple with embedded DisplayPort and P-gamma chips.

The rumor reportedly also mentions that Apple is “shortening its new product release cycle” and that the Cupertino giant is also on track to roll out the fifth-generation (full-size) iPad 5 alongside the second-generation iPad mini in a couple of months from now.

The rumor certainly sounds plausible. The lack of a Retina display on the iPad mini has been the most criticized aspect of the diminutive tablet computer.
