14 DAY TRIAL // Apple is already lining up its part suppliers to begin mass production of the second-generation iPad mini, according to a well-known Wall Street analyst who is visiting chip companies in China.
Breaking away from his trips between part suppliers in the Far East, RBC Capital Markets analyst Doug Freedman issued a research note which says, “iPad Mini Gen-2: Apple’s gen-2 iPad mini is getting pulled-in, and is likely to have several new suppliers, with TXN gaining content.”
In other words, expect an iPad mini refresh in spring 2013. The tablet will not only boast a faster processor but also a higher-density display, reaching feature parity with the rest of the iDevice pack.
Early adopters of the original iPad mini will undoubtedly be disappointed to see their new tablets become obsolete in such a short timeframe, but that’s what you get when you shop Apple.
