MicaRed Inc. has introduced a new version of its simple and easy to use WebDAV client app for iPhone and iPad, OverTheAir 1.6. The new version comes with the most significant functionality upgrade since its original release one year ago, and allegedly makes clunky notebook PCs irrelevant for work on the go.

A simple file viewing solution for Apple’s iOS devices, OverTheAir allows users to view files in cloud-based remote file sharing services like the popular Dropbox and Apple’s own MobileMe.

Naturally, any WebDAV enabled server, whether it’s for businesses or not, will be supported by OverTheAir.

Using the tool, customers can view their much-needed files anywhere without having to carry around a heavy notebook PC, or a MacBook.

Now that version 1.6 is out, the free application features a brand new PDF viewer with index thumbnails, which simplifies page to page navigation in large documents or catalogs, MicaRed said.

A tracking capability to locate the last viewed page allows users to resume where they left off, whereas the PDF screen presentation can easily pass for the flagship feature of this update.

Users can now employ OverTheAir to show fellow colleagues, partners or friends screen presentations using external displays or projectors with PDF files directly from Dropbox, Mobile Me iDisk or other WebDAV servers.

Last, but not least, OverTheAir uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for the WebDAV access to protect users’ valuable information, making it an ideal tool for enterprise use.

“These features support flexible sales activities and replace heavy notebook PCs and catalog books,” MicaRed Inc. upholds.

“You can simply download OverTheAir from the App Store for free and use the app on the go,” the company said.

Available immediately from Apple’s iOS App Store in the Productivity section, OverTheAir 1.6 is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 3.0 or later.
