14 DAY TRIAL // As of today, Level 3 Communications is the content delivery network services selected by HBO to support their new HBO GO iPad app through delivery of premium media content.
Level 3’s expertise and network capacity for delivering bandwidth-intensive content to mobile devices will be leveraged by HBO not only on their iOS app, but also on the version targeting other tablets, like those powered by Google’s Android OS.
The application launched free of charge to HBO subscribers earlier this month. U.S. residents get instant, exclusive access to more than 1,400 titles.
Every episode of every season of the best HBO shows will now be provided through Level 3’s CDN platform which acts as a medium for subscribers to access this content whenever and wherever they want, the provider of fiber-based communications services said today.
Commenting on the new agreement with Level 3, Greg Fittinghoff, senior vice president of Corporate Systems and Infrastructure at HBO, said:

Mark Taylor, vice president of Content and Media at Level 3, added that “Today’s media consumer wants instant, unlimited access to their favorite content no matter where they are, which is exactly what HBO is providing to its subscribers with HBO GO.”
Taylor said his company understands what it takes to deliver the goods and, thanks to the sophisticated CDN platform, “our team has designed solutions to help HBO provide reliable, fast-loading access to their content, regardless of whether it’s a five-minute trailer or a three-hour epic blockbuster,” he said.
