Five generations of iPad culminate with a wicked-fast iPad Air

The new iPad Air is not only a looker, it’s also the fastest and most practical full-size iPad every created by Apple. You don’t have to take my word for it though.

Simply click on the embedded play button above and see for yourself. The Air trumps its predecessors in anything from boot time and web browsing to video playback and shutdown speed.

Its Wi-Fi enhancements make it even a better Internet tool, and it has the same crisp Retina display used in the past three iPad generations, ensuring a superior visual experience on a 9.7-inch display with a 2048-by-1536 resolution and over 3.1 million pixels.

However, unlike similar speed test videos where iPhones are featured, these iPads closely track one another in performance. I’m amazed at how well the first iPad still stacks against its successors.
