Apple retail stores, authorized resellers, and regular retail stores like Walmart are beginning to receive iPad Air shipments in anticipation of tomorrow’s launch.

The intel comes from 9to5mac, whose sources conveyed to the site that “multiple large stores across the United States have already received upwards of 500-1000 units of the iPad Air.” The same source said iPad Airs would be available for business discounts on day one, unlike previous years.

iPad Air is Apple’s thinnest, lightest, and most powerful iPad to date. It borrows the design of the iPad mini in a larger form factor (to accommodate the 9.7-inch display), and uses the all-new A7 processor debuted by Apple in the iPhone 5s.

Customers get the same crisp Retina display that they’ve become accustomed to in a much more attractive aluminum enclosure with two color options: Silver and Space Gray. The tablet starts at $499/€479 for the 16GB Wi-Fi-only version.
