The future iOS Device has a new speaker grill and redesigned volume controls

We already know that the new iPad Air is going to be changed, but the new photos claiming to show the future iOS Device reveal how much Apple has redesigned it.

The three pictures emerged on Chinese forum weibo.com. The user says that these are rear shells for iPad 6. If one counts the number of iPads Apple has released so far, the sixth generation iPad is indeed the iPad Air 2.

The forum member who posted these says he has access to other Apple parts and they are ready to be shipped overseas to anyone interested. Obviously, these came out from the supply chain or from Apple's partners in China – Foxconn or Pegatron.

The photos do not show details of the future device other than the empty Apple logo on the back of the case and redesigned volume buttons. The case doesn't have any additional electronics or parts attached to it. One other new thing is the speaker grill. It has been changed from two rows to one row of holes on the left and the right side of the lightning connector.

Apple is expected to release a new iPad Mini and iPad Air before Christmas of 2014. The redesigned iOS devices will most likely have a Touch ID home button and may be slimmer than the current generation.

The new iPad models will run iOS 8 and sport a new, more powerful A8 chipset. There are no rumors about the screen yet, but Apple may include the sapphire coated display in the high-end iPad model, just like the iPhone will supposedly get.
