A benchmark carried out on the new iPad’s A5X processor has revealed that it remains a 1GHz affair, with enhancements in the RAM and graphical departments.

Benchmarked by the people at Tinhte (a Vietnamese site that leaked an iPhone 4 prototype some time ago), the A5X silicon in Apple’s third-generation iPad is clocked at 1GHz. The RAM is 1GB, as previously rumored.

It got a 756 score which is very comparable with what they got from the original A5 chip in the iPad 2. However, the low score reportedly has to do with the benchmarking software, which is currently unable to test the four GPU cores confirmed by Apple in its marketing materials.

In other words, the score should be higher.
