A source who has been making a name for itself on the iDevice leak scene for the past two weeks has a new image to show us, this time of the iPad 5 rear shell.

Tactus says the image above represents the final design of Apple’s iPad 5 enclosure – an aluminum shell with a considerably lesser depth than the current-generation model.

According to the author, Apple is finally going for an IGZO Retina display this year, “which means a thinner iPad is definitely on the cards.”

The technology draws considerably less power, therefore a smaller battery might also be in the cards for the new iPad, further reducing its weight.

The report also mentions that Apple’s iPad 5 will have an 8MP rear-facing camera and storage options ranging between 16GB and 128GB.
