Gumdrop Cases develops and sells protective enclosures for Apple’s iDevices. The company aims to be the first to sell a case for the iPad 5, and is already offering them on its site with the promise to refund your money if the upcoming tablet doesn’t fit.

The CEO of Gumdrop Cases, Tim Hickman, is confident Apple is set to unveil the fifth-generation iPad really soon.

Granted, the company’s WWDC event next Monday would be a good time and place to showcase the tablet, especially if iOS 7 is pre-installed on it.

“Just like most consumers we can't wait for the next iPad! The iPad is fun and it's fun to design and produce these cases faster than anyone,” Hickman wrote in a statement.

“We're pretty confident these cases will fit. If for some reason they don't, we'll replace the case at no charge,” the CEO adds.

The Drop Tech Series Case for the iPad 5 provides shock absorption, drop protection, and extreme ruggedness.

The cases come in different shapes and colors and aim to provide maximum protection for users who like to take their tablets out in the field, on hiking trips, and stuff like that.

The company states, “the Drop Tech Series Case for the iPad 5 specifically conforms to the shape of the iPad 5 and offers multiple layers of protection.” That is, of course, if the rumors turn out to be true.

Some of the key features listed by Gumdrop include the following.

- Complete security for the iPad 5, including screen and port covers - Dual material construction for multiple layers of shock absorption - Reinforced rubber bumpers on the corners - Includes integrated screen cover for protection during use

The accessory maker also provides a side-by-side comparison of the iPad 5 case versus the iPad 4 case, noting that the newer ones have “a slightly smaller width and height than their predecessors to fit the reduced dimensions of the devise [sic], while the port holes remain in the same positions.”
