An accessory maker headquartered in China, where Apple’s iDevices are manufactured, is selling a protective case for an allegedly thicker ‘iPad 2S’ that’s about to be unveiled shortly.

The seller, Chinee, claims these “iPad 2S” cases will fit a 1MM thicker tablet computer, and that it gained the blueprints for the slightly-altered iPad from sources within Apple’s supply chain, reports 9to5mac.

Case manufacturers have typically leaked accurate information about Apple’s upcoming products in the past, and this time should be no different.

Word on the street in China is that Apple will, indeed, release only a slightly upgraded tablet computer this spring. The tablet computer is expected to boast a quad-core A6 processor, a better camera, and a Retina display. Whether or not Apple will adopt the 2S dubbing (akin to the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S speed bumps) remains to be seen.
