“Reliable sources” are telling a German website that Apple’s iPad 2 is coming on April 2 or April 9 with a Retina display, USB port and dual cameras.

Although sounding a tad speculative, MacNotes.de quotes its sources as saying that the second-generation Apple tablet will arrive in the United States on “the first or second Saturday in April”

According to the leak, “the iPad 2 will sell US-only for three months, and Apple Store-only for up to half a year.”

On the hardware front, the source claims to have learned that “the iPad 2 is going to ship with retina display, USB port and two cameras.”

Besides the Retina display, which many believe will not make it into Apple’s iPad 2, all the details seem to corroborate recent rumors about the upcoming launch and hardware specs of the second-generation device.

The source quoted by MacNotes also believes the new iPad will sell only in the U.S. for its first three months and that it will be sold only through Apple Stores for the first half of 2011.

It adds that international sales should begin in July, while retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart will have to wait until October to take orders.

Since this was pretty much the case with Apple’s current iPad model, this doesn’t sound like much of a leaked piece of information.

In fact, the MacNotes report doesn’t seem to bring anything new to the table, with the exception of the alleged April launch date which also makes sense from a historical point of view.

Apple’s current tablet was originally launched in April 2010, while the company never misses a deadline for its annual product refresh cycle.

Apple’s iPad 2 was originally confirmed this week by new hardware designations spotted in Apple’s iOS 4.3 betas where not one, but three new versions of the tablet were being referenced.
