An iPad 2 has been killed by accessory firm ZooGue to promote a special offer on their web site where the first 50,000 customers can nab a free iPhone case or an iPad stylus.The CEO of
ZooGue basically just strapped some metal onto the iPad, flew to Hawaii, climbed to one of the active volcanos and dipped the tablet in the molten rock.
There are many ways you can destroy an iPad (virtually infinite), and I’m not sure this is even the first time someone pulls off something like this, but I guess many will find the footage fulfilling during their lunch break. Especially if you’re careful enough to notice that the iPad at one point says “Temperature is too high”. I suppose it was indeed a tad too hot for it to operate normally.
Apparently the sole purpose of this ordeal was to direct viewers to ZooGue.com to make their acquaintance with the company’s offerings. What do you think of their idea?
