The highly-acclaimed iOS game Republique will make its debut on PC later this month, developer Camouflaj confirmed. The remastered version will arrive on both Windows PC and Mac on February 26 and will be available via Steam, GOG and Humble Store.

Republique Remastered will cost $24.99 and include a pre-purchase of the upcoming Episode 4: God’s Acre and Episode 5: Terminus.

Additionally, a Deluxe Edition will be available as well, which will add the complete soundtrack, an hour-long making-of documentary, and two early prototypes (exclusive to the desktop version) for $34.99.

Both versions of Republique Remastered will be available for pre-order in the last week of February for 20% off the original price ($19.99 / $28.99).

The first commercial game fully built with Unity 5 engine

According to developers, the game has been completely rebuilt in Unity 5. In fact, Republique Remastered is the first commercial game to take advantage of the new multiplatform engine.

In Republique Remastered, players will have to help Hope, a young woman who is trying to escape from a secret Orwellian state. She uses a phone to contact you and asks you to hack into the surveillance system and guide her safely outside the compound.

Republique is a stealth-based action game that’s been inspired from literary works such as “1984” and “Brave New World.” As they progress into the game, players will have access to more abilities and they will be able to expand control over more surveillance cameras and other network-enabled devices.

“Ever since we committed to doing a desktop version of République, we’ve been haunted by the task for delivering something truly special for PC players.

“When we got a glimpse at the next iteration of Unity we realized that this was the answer — beyond redesigning the game’s controls and UI for desktop, we’ve completely gutted all the game’s art, rebuilding everything using Unity 5’s cutting-edge graphical features. The result is something you have to see to believe,” says Ryan Payton, designer at Camouflaj.
