iOS Promo Code Support Revised in New Developer Guide

Apple has announced that the latest version of the iTunes Connect Developer Guide (version 5.6) is now available. According to the iPhone maker, the new version includes information on the iAd Network and how developers can integrate rich media adds in their apps, new support for requesting promo codes, requirements for app screenshots and more.

Apple’s official announcement, as posted at the iPhone Dev Center on its web site, has been reproduced below.

Version of iTunes Connect Developer Guide Available


The latest version of the iTunes Connect Developer Guide (version 5.6) is now available. This new version includes information on:

- Enabling your app for iAd rich media ads and the iAd Network module in iTunes Connect;
- New support for requesting Promotional Codes;
- Fetching crash logs on demand;
- Requirements for submitting high resolution screenshots and small icons.

You'll find the iTunes Connect Developer Guide available for download on the homepage of iTunes Connect.


A a suite of web-based tools created for developers to submit and manage their applications for sale via the App Store, iTunes Connect enables those enrolled with Apple to check the status of their contracts, manage iTunes Connect and In App Purchase test users, view application crash logs, obtain sales and finance reports, request promotional codes, and even add or manage application metadata, binaries, and in app purchases, Apple’s PDF guide reveals.

The company recently released a new iTunes Connect Mobile app which acts as an extension of iTunes Connect that presents devs with sales and trend information on their titles. Additionally, the app provides a view of aggregated unit sales information by product line, market, and individual product. iTunes Connect Mobile is freely available for download to registered developers via the iTunes Connect homepage. Although the app is available through the App Store, just like all other iOS apps, iTC Mobile cannot be searched for directly in the App Store.
