14 DAY TRIAL // One major advantage that Android has over iOS are the endless customization options it presents. Granted, you don’t want too many options in the hands of the user or you’ll end up with a very fragmented ecosystem. But it’s one thing that iOS shouldn’t necessarily have to miss out on.
Starting with iOS 8, Apple users might be in for a little surprise. Deep within the beta handed to developers last week, Hamza Sood has discovered an alternate user interface with different colors and fonts, among other things.
“Here's iOS 8's internal ‘Alternate UI.’ Purple tint, orange switches, funky font. I have no idea why Apple made this,” writes developer Hamza Sood on Twitter.
Offering the option to set your preferred color theme and fonts would mean the world for some users who are struggling to make out certain characters on the small iPhone’s screen or for those who believe iOS 7’s color palette is a tad washed out.
