On April 13, Apple seeded the first Beta release of the upcoming iOS 8.4 software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices running the iOS mobile operating system.

Tagged as 12H4074d, the new iOS 8.4 Beta build is available for download and testing right now from your Apple Developer account, along with the Beta of Xcode 6.4 (build 6E7), an integrated development environment (IDE) used for building iOS and Mac apps.

Those of you who have enrolled in the iOS Developer program can find all the details you need to install the Beta of iOS 8.4 and Xcode 6.4 in your Apple Developer account, including the entire release notes and information about supported devices.

Please keep in mind, though, that you won't be able to restore devices updated to iOS 8.4 Beta to earlier versions of iOS. Also, be sure to back up all your important data before updating. iOS SDK 8.4 works only on Mac computers running OS X 10.10 Yosemite or newer.

Early preview of the revamped Music app

Besides various bugfixes, the iOS 8.4 Beta 1 release offers an early preview of the revamped Music app, which boasts a beautiful new look and powerful features that will make your music experience better.

"This preview provides a sneak peek into what we've been working on, and what's to come - the music is just getting started," was stated in the release notes for iOS 8.4 Beta.

Highlights of the new Music app include personalized playlists, Recently Added view, streamlined iTunes Radio, new MiniPlayer, improved Now Playing view, Up Next function, and global search.

iOS users will be able to explore and enjoy their music library more easily than ever before with the revamped Music app that will be available to users worldwide when the iOS 8.4 software update becomes public.
