Apple has released the fourth beta of iOS 8.2 to registered developers with the purpose of improving the build with fixes for existing bugs, as well as testing of the newly-incorporated WatchKit framework for integrating iPhones with the upcoming Apple Watch.

iOS 8.2 Beta 4 is labeled as build 12D5461b and contains “bug fixes and improvements,” according to the OTA dialog popping up on developer devices with older betas installed.

For development purposes

Apple promises to disclose more information behind a special link that takes registrants to the iOS Dev Center. However, the URL is currently inactive, and the iOS Dev Center has yet to list availability of iOS 8.2 Beta 4 at the time of this writing.

The description further states that said update weighs in at 290MB. According to the Cupertino company, “This beta version of iOS should only be deployed on devices dedicated for iOS 8.2 beta software development.”

iOS 8.2 is known to contain ties to the WatchKit framework, which enables programmers to code apps that work in tandem on iPhone and Apple Watch. The latter is slated for launch sometime in the following two-to-three months.

With this software, registered developers can code apps for iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 8. Additional information and support resources for this software can be found at http://developer.apple.com/programs/ios/.
