The evad3rs released their latest jailbreak this weekend, adding support for iOS 7.0 firmware (through 7.0.4). Hours after the official evasi0n7 release, the team issued some warnings, ensuring people don’t brick their devices.

One such warning reveals that “Over The Air updates of iOS 7 are known to create an issue and make the jailbreak fail.”

The team says that some device models that were updated to iOS 7 OTA may get stuck on reboot, showing the Apple logo forever. Users who encounter this issue are told to restore their iPhones to 7.0.4 using iTunes and then try the jailbreak again.

If you’ve bricked your device, you’ll probably need to go into DFU mode before being able to do anything with it. In case you don’t know how, this article explains the gist of it.

The evad3rs also say they are working on a fix for this issue.

A second warning involves Cydia tweaks. Users can end up with a bricked device by installing incompatible binaries. As developers work to update their tweaks for iOS 7, jailbreakers are advised to refrain from installing any packages from Cydia. The evad3rs’ message follows below.

“Warning! Many Cydia tweaks are not yet compatible with iOS 7. Please always backup your phone before installing new tweaks from Cydia as your iPhone could be stuck in the boot process. The situation will improve as developers will update their software.”

With that out of the way, if you’ve missed Sunday’s announcements, evasi0n7 is now available for download on Mac and Windows, with support for iOS 7.0 through iOS 7.0.4. The jailbreak tool can also hack iOS 7.1 betas, according to the evad3rs.
