Get ready for a serious leg up in iOS gaming, as the MOGA Ace Power controller for iOS 7 is finally being released. No more greasy fingers on your iPhone’s touchscreen!

If you’re an avid gamer and you carry around an iPhone, chances are you’re pretty disappointed with the control scheme of most iOS games. Although many iOS games look absolutely stunning, the same thing cannot be said about the controls.

The MOGA Ace Power controller, priced at $99 (€73.37), aims to change all that when it’s released on the MOGA website, the Apple Online Store, and Apple retail stores on Wednesday, November 20.

Reviewed by a number of gaming experts, the MOGA Ace Power controller poses some advantages, but also some downsides.

The construction of the hardware reportedly leads to rattling during gameplay, and since it’s connected via Lightning port, you can’t use it to play games on the iPad.

Another downside is tied to the games themselves, rather than the controller. Many developers who claim to offer controller support in their iOS games have forgotten to take out the on-screen buttons (when the Ace Power is connected).

On the bright side, many of your favorite shooters or racing games are now finally playable. Of course, there’s a big discrepancy between the price you pay for the actual game and this controller but, as a diehard gamer, you shouldn’t feel any remorse.

Third-party controller support was added in iOS 7, which technically means we might (one day) see the same thing happen to the Apple TV.

Here at Softpedia we’ve long advocated for a new version of the Apple TV software with access to the iTunes App Store. Throw in a controller and you essentially get a very affordable gaming console with hundreds of thousands of games at your disposal.

Not surprisingly, perhaps, Apple is said to have one more Apple TV refresh lined up before it finally decides to introduce a big-screen television.
